I would start by telling you not to trust the exterior appearance of the building. I have been frequenting “Le Restaurant Chez Hector” for several years now. There is consistency in the dishes. No matter what dish you order, the presentation, taste and cooking will always be the same (cooking according to your preference). I chose the filet mignon, great!!! other renowned restaurants in Joliette do not come with Hector. My partner took the salmon steak and my son, the flank steak. Either of our plates is just as good. I without hesitation recommend this restaurant, right on the edge of the Black River bridge in St-Jean-de-Matha. To try it is to adopt it. For your information Well
Chez Hector was able to welcome us in style for my father's birthday (group of 25 people). Communication with the owners was excellent, which greatly facilitated the organization. Everyone appreciated the quality of the food and the service. Many thanks and see you next time!
I don't even know where to start... it's wonderful from start to finish... yes there is noise because it's a house... it's like you're welcoming 20 people into your home... but without washing the dishes... and with wonderful service, from start to finish a marvel in the mouth the squid super good... the Spanish shrimp the best we've eaten, nice portion of meat from land and sea great restaurant, forget the noise just speak louder plus bring one your wine don't forget to reserve It’s not very big, we’ll definitely come back
What a great evening for a group of 25. We had the restaurant for our group, the service was super personalized. Everyone really enjoyed the food.
Go for it ! It's definitely worth the detour. Don't let the appearance of the building influence you. What an excellent meal we enjoyed. The squid was fried to perfection, with a delicate sauce enhancing their flavor. A succulent salad is served between the starter and the main course. The flank steak, cooked to my liking, is served with exquisite matchstick fries, green beans and a delicious mushroom sauce. The portions are generous. The service is second to none and the chef works very hard in the kitchen to ensure that all customers at the same table are served at the same time. Well done
Super delicious.quick service.super clean.
This place came highly recommended. Very unassuming facade and decor, it looks like your average small town restaurant on the side of the road. Very homey, you feel welcome here as soon as you walk in. The menu is on the blackboard. About 10 entrees and another 10 mains, most of them meat, with a bit of fish and seafood. For the price of your main 15, you get the entree of your choice - no restrictions or surcharges - and dessert. The choices were varied enough to make it hard to choose. Everything was absolutely fantastic. And the portions are gargantuan. The tartare entree was a bigger portion than a main dish at a lot of other places. My entree of fried calamari with sweet mayo was huge and perfectly delicately fried. The mains were just as good as hearty. My 1's filet mignon was at least 8 oz and was well seasoned and cooked. My ribs were very meaty and the sauce rich and sweet. Sweet potato fries were great too. We barely had room for desert. The lava cake and brownie with ice cream were fine. Prices were totally fair - entrees 7-12, mains 20-40, but it's a bring your own wine, so value is there. The quality and service make it a must go if you're in the area. I wouldn't bring a vegetarian here, and the decor could use a once over, but it's fantastic and now I'll recommend it too!
First time at this restaurant. Excellent cuisine. Perfect service. Warm atmosphere. I would go back anytime especially since it's a rare BYOB wine in the area!
